Wal-Mart moving into the world of online classifieds

Wal-Mart Stores, largest retailer in the world today, has come up with a website, which will be listing local classifieds for its users. This move is sure to give them a greater exposure to the ecommerce world. Their site will be running under a three-year-old firm of California, Oodle.com.
A spokesperson of Walmart.com said that their free and community-based resources would allow more customers to purchase and sell their items and simultaneously give a scope of finding local jobs. He felt that this domain would be a useful resource in knowing more events in their area. Again, he also said that this would be an excellent platform for connecting over 100 million customer of the brand across the globe.

Officials at Wal-Mart believe that they are working hard to give a significant competition to Craigslist, who have been a leader in this sector for a long time.
Although it might be too early to predict on the scenario between Craigslist and Walmart.com, still with the brand Wal-Mart being in one corner, most experts will be relying on the latter to do exceptionally well in the coming future.
